HORSEBACK RIDING

Horseback riding is an unusual way to experience the beauty of the island, on paths to places unreachable by car or easily accessed by conventional means of transport. These amazing proud animals introduce visitors to the beauties of the mountain and sea. In summer, weather permitting, riders can enjoy a dip in the sea with the horse!

The strait between Paros and Antiparos at Pounta Beach is paradise for kitesurfers. The beach on the west of Paros is preferred by kitesurfers because of the favorable winds in the area. The international kitesurfing competition is held there. The sky fills with colorful kites. Kitesurfers from all over the world gather there and demonstrate their racing skills.

WATER SKIING

FISHING

The marine fauna in Paros is extremely rich. Because of the currents, the marine world is bustling. Bays, capes and reefs are a magnet for underwater life. Grouper, white seabream, perch and bass, octopus and bream, mullet and pandora, amberjack, European barracuda, dentex, crabs, starfish, shells and sea urchins. Fishing in Paros, whether by hook, net, line, angling, trawling or snorkeling, is an interesting experience.

It’s no exaggeration to say that the island of Paros offers ideal conditions for cycling enthusiasts. And when we say “ideal conditions”, we mean for the fans of all kinds of bicycles and cycling. Mountain and off road devotees should opt for a mountain bike and follow some of the hiking trails and dirt roads located inland, from Lefkes to Lagada, the monastery of Agion Theodoron and Aspro Chorio, or Christou of Dasous and Kamari.

HIKING

Paros has a hiking trail network of approximately 35 km. Hikers will encounter houses, small stone sustainable farm houses, lime, clay, reeds, and seaweed – proof that the simple can also be beautiful. More windmills, watermills, wheel wells, wells, cisterns, threshing floors, and pigeon houses (or “virtues with four corners” according to Elytis) than you could count. Some are organized and well marked, others are old and exciting and some are ideal for adventure lovers.
